this is from Nth Qld and is approx 300 mm wide x one metre long and weighs around 3 kilos.
Is there an interest in this sort of stuff at all Rick?

These go OK. $150 is about its limit, though.

I have one of these also, if anyone were interested i'd be happy to sell it. I've had it for 25 years It came from Weipa in Far North Queensland. I don't know how to make a new post so any help with that also would be good.

Just picked up a lovely carved whales tooth. It features a well-dressed gent with top hat, long coat, carrying a furled umbrella. Rather naively done, it is definitely the real thing. Beware fake plastic whales teeth - always cut square along the bottom. The art of carving on whale teeth or whalebone is called scrimshanding. The object itself is called scrimshaw.
