Know worries as Rick will probably tell you they are worth quite a bit of money but very hard to identify as original as there are so many good fakes out there (refer to one of the other threads on this site), as a collector i am starting to tell fakes from originals.
What there worth is only what someone is willing to pay. For example i have a 1959 "original" Melbourne WEG which i paid $1000 for it has been valued at $4500 but there is no way i would get this amount. By all means wait for Ricks reply he is very upfront and honest, but feel free to call or email to discuss with me 1) looking at it and 2) making an offer

David, unless you have proof of the poster's origin, it's almost impossible to value. It was the first one, and was given out only to the boys and girls who sold the evening Herald on the streets of Footscray. It was not sold to the general public as all following WEG posters were. I don't know anyone who can definitely verify the 1954 WEG. I have seen plenty of fakes, including some that have sold for massive prices. If I was asked to nominate a price for a 1954 poster coming from an impeccable source, I'd say it could well for worth $10,000. But I don't know anyone who would be prepared to verify the "real McCoy" - and I've talked to plenty of experts! I wish I could be more specific, but this poster is the greatest puzzle in Aussie Rules collecting.
