Hi there Rick and all the best!
I have 48 of the 50 cards from this set including bradman, missing card no 1 and 2.
These cards seem to be rare as hens teeth as i have been looking for the last 2 cards to fill my set, would prefer they be near mint to match the others i have.
There are cards in this set of players who never quite made the grade and certainly were never put on any other cards.
Can you tell me what my chances are of finding the last 2 please and also an approximate card value as i have never seen them selling in mint/near mint condition.
THANK YOU
I hope you have been well long time since i have seen you, i was sick for a long time but well again now.
You were very helpful to me years ago when i owned Homerssports all the very best

Good to hear from you, Matthew! Yes, you're right, Connell's Rolled Oats cricket cards seldom turn up. I value them highly - had a set at one stage, and got a good price for it, but much higher prices these days. I shouldn't think you'd find any for less than $300 in vgc. which means the 48 you have are worth heaps! I can only suggest you keep looking at the selling sites. In the meantime, I'll ask around for you. Watch this space.

By the way, some of the later cards in this set (in the 40's) are extremely rare, and are worth substantially more

Thanks for the good news Rick.....i had no idea they were worth quite that much.
I was wondering about the cards numbered 39 to 50 as the players are a bit obscure.
Could you perhaps steer me toward the best place to sell them Rick?
Wasnt initially thinking of it but that sort of money would be very handy ....... thank you
Mat

Matthew, I always quote retail prices. If I can help you sell the lot, I'd take a 20% commission. Let me know if you'd like me to ask around. After all, there are not too many customers willing to fork out $15,000 or so!

Matthew,
Just in case you weren't aware the others in the series you need are #1 C.W. Walker & #2 L.E. Ames, while the only recorded additional cards are #32 H.S. Nitschke & C.J. Barnett, #41 M.S. Nicols & E.C. Bensted, #42 H. Alexander & C.F. Walters and #50 R. Rowe & G. Geary. This suggests that there are 54 cards (currently) recorded for the full set but in all likelihood others may exists, (as Rick suggests) at the other higher numbers.
There has also been some discussion among Cricket Card Collectors that two cards also exist for #32 B. Barnett & B.A. Barnett though I haven't sighted a copy of the latter one to verify this, whereas the other additional cards I have either seen or have in my own collection - at present I have 25 of the 54, including two of the hard to find additional four.
I'd also suggest that if you have a crisp 10/10 copy of #17, Rick's estmate could be well short - it could bring between $700 & $1000 in the right market i.e. among the big cricket card collectors!

Yes, there's a whole tribe of Bradman collectors who pay extra, but if I was Matthew, I'd keep it as part of the set - if he plans to sell. Take Bradman out, and suddenly you've got substantially less chance of selling.

Thank you Steve F for the info on card 1 and 2 that i need and info on the later numbers, do you have spares of them (1 &2) for me!! Haha gotta ask.....
My no 32 card is H S NITSCHKE......no 41 E C BENSTED ......no 42 H ALEXANDER ......no 50 R ROWE.
In case i have anything of note here are the players over no 38 that i have in the collection.
....no 39 W BROWN .....no 40 H EBELING......no 43 J SCAIFE.....no 44 L P OBRIEN ...... no 45 L NAGEL ......no 46 C ANDREWS...... no 47 A G CHIPPERFIELD...... no 48 E MCCORMICK .....no 49 E BROMLEY.....
Are any other numbers i should mention??
I certainly agree with your idea on not seperating Bradman from the set RICK. Unless i ended up selling them individuallyat an online source .......which i may do but unsure at the moment?
But wonder if anyone would ever really be interested in all the 48/50 cards that i have in one bundle, as Rick says..........if i had all 50 i would imagine they would be easier to sell complete.
Am still thinking about it Rick...i appreciate your offr and reckon 20% is very fair.
These cards are sharp, crisp, clean and still have the beautiful gloss finish on the fronts and amazing clean backs.
But a few have faults like a dent in the pic or the odd slight bend(not crease showing through the card) But none look handled or worn...all matching condition.amazing over all.
They were the only cards i bought from an old lady years ago from her husbands massive collection......i had never seen them before at that time.
